After leaving school, I did my London Exams and then proceeded to the USA for my flying.
I got my license in the USA in 1982 and then came back towards the end of that year. I did my final exam in Aviation in 1989.
After my initial flying license, I joined Upali Aviation and was with them for about a year and four month and after which I joined Air Lanka as a Cadet Pilot.
After a very illustrious career spanning 16 and a half years at Air Lanka/Sri Lankan Airlines where I was a Senior Captain and Commander in the company I left in 2000 for Singapore Airlines. I left SIA in November 2009 and I am presently proud to be working for the Worlds Five Star Airline - Qatar Airways as a Commander on the A330.
I am married and have 3 daughters one of which have brought Glory to our little Mother Land.
Although I am based out of Doha, Qatar. I am a resident of Auckland, New Zealand.
