Chanaka Chaminda a member of the computer society was placed fourth at the Inter School Software Competition organised by the Secondary Education Modernisation Project and the Microsoft Company .
Theme of his presentation was the evolution of computers which was very attractive and informative. He received a cash prices as well as a scholarship offered by the IDM Institute

The Computer Society of D.S Senanayake College extended their helping hand towards the GIT students by organising a seminar for them in collaboration with the IDM Ltd . This was agreat success and highly motivated event since it subjected to the appreciation by the A/L Science and Commerce Students whose impression was that IT unit of D.S.SEnanayake College always engages in such worthy causes .
DS Computer Society - colossal pillar behind in guiding fledging DS Sons towards the modern Technology proudly presented its "Annual ICT Day" with the sole motivation of awaring the most latest technology- Nano. O.B.A Auditorium made the venue for this event on 13th of November .
This was graced by 17 schools in the suburbs . All the participants were greatly enlighted with the "Ninithi Quiz" which paved the way to update their technological knowledge and have an amiable atmosphere moving with the peers. Conducting and the organisation of the whole program under scrutinized supervision of the Teachers In charge were commendable and distinctive.

Member of the IT Society and leading IT creative Artist - Kasun Keshawa Ranatunge has symbolised his Alma Mater , claiming for one of the best awards presented by the Chief Guest Hon Minister of Education Mr Susil Premajayantha , at Sri Lanka National Schools Software Championship 2009 held at Nawarangahala on the 22nd of October 2009.
He deserves more achievements in the same field since he is such a competent personality in the school computer society which has represented him for numerous Inter School Competitions. He was awarded the Bronze medal together with an invaluable compliment which would undoubtedly boost his creative works.

Invasion the latest creation of IT students of D.S.Senanayake College is an invasion of the periperies of curricular based IT field of the teenagers . This is a marvellous achievement of the IT department of the College which always volunteers to bring the fame of the College locally and Internationally being a state institute. Computer Society of D. S. Senanayake College oraganized the interschool IT Quiz competition on the 30th of October 2008 at the OBA auditorium. Chief Guest was Mr. Madu Rathnayake, senior director of Virtusa. Many schools participated and the Musaeus College and the St. Thomasas were selected for the final rounds and St. Thomasas became the champions.
IT still the latest to the island and most of the state schools, has paved the way to Thilan Lakshitha to bring laurels to the Computer Society cum School creating a bronze medalist in the 6th Young Computer Scientist Competition 2007. Lahiru Sandaruwan too acquired a merit award in the same .This is an excellent performance in the sense to this budding young computer members.This victory may be glanced simple but so meticulous.
Computer Society - in the lime light with all sophisticated equipment in our college paved the way to IT Members to take part in an Interschool ICT Quiz Competition ENVISION 2007 at Musaeus College .
Our Members Jithendra Sirimanne , Udesh Egodage, Uditha Parakrama Sahabandu became the runners up keeping a neck to neck competition with other leading schools , Proving that our sons are talented in It field also.

The computer society organized a 10 day free seminor on computer graphics for students of year 6-11.
This session was conducted by iExpolink Vocational Training Institute.
The Computer Society boasts a membership of over 1500 students and is one of the mostly active student bodies of the college. Since it's begininig in 1993 with the opening of the computer laboratory with 20 a workstation network the society has been imparting valuable computing knowledege to the colleges student population tirelessly. The Computer Society organizes All Island Software Competitions, Workshops at the National Level to share the knowledge with other schools in the island. We participate in many inter school competitions Computer society organised an Inter School Soft ware competition in which Royal College won the D.S. Senanayake Challenge Trophy for Soft ware.

With the sole sponsorship of DS Grade 1 parents whose contribution in a traditional way -School Avurudu Pola , to a modern task, our Multi Media Unit is expanding its width and length which is with the verge of housing to its second multi media unit with all the modern sophisticated equipment with the anticipation of making the IT community to cope with the Globe full of modern technology, under construction
