Two Advanced Level Students of D.S. Senanayake College together with  four undergraduates from universities of Colombo and Kelaniya attended Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) Model United Nations Summit 2010 held at Pilani, Rajasthan - India from the 12th to the 14th of February, organized in collaboration with the United Nations Information Centre in New Delhi. The delegation from Sri Lanka, won four awards at the 3rd largest MUN summit in South Asia.

Zainul Meeadh of our College was presented the Higher Commendation award at the Human Rights Council for representing Denmark for his outstanding deliberation of diplomatic skills laying a successful beginning to his ambition in the long run to be a Top Class diplomat. Meanwhile other delegates from Sri Lanka bagged away one best delegate award and two special mentioned  awards bringing forth much pride and glory, not only to their respective institutions but also to Sri Lanka as a nation.

Senel Wanniarachchi of our college was conferred the prerogative of moderating council debate as the Director of the Human Rights Council. Senel was the only Non-Indian member of the executive committee cum the youngest member .

 The very fact that students of our college, were selected to attend this conference among undergraduate students, and managed to compete delegates of the same caliber and were recognized at such international a platform should be highly applauded.
