19th September 2008 - was a memorable day for Year 2 students and the special unit of D.S Senanayake College as they shifted their class rooms to a new building which was gifted by the Education Ministry. This was declared open by the Principal Mr Ashoka Senanai Hewage with Seth Pirith chanting .The foundation stone for this building was laid by Hon. Minister of Education Mr Susil Prem Jayantha on the 28th of October 2006. Mrs Malini Fernando represented the Ministry of Education at this ceremony.
