Arunalu, most eye catching and aesthetically full of musical performances beat the hearts of the audience in its own style highly native to the budding DS sons in Primary School, making the venue at R.I.T Alles Hall on 31st of October & 01st of November. The grand participation of every primary school child is a unique feature in this concert.

Every child in the sense, that all the 45 pupils in the class have to present their skills either in dancing, singing, instrumental music or dramatization without being individual catagorizing but which would culminate to produce talented pupils in the particular sector at the conclusion of this finale. So it is a sort of amalgamation of skills cum producing individual talented to the school community and finally to the nation.

This is the sole brain child of the present Principal, Mr. Asoka Senani Hewage - always on the idealism on creating an aesthetic minded, environmental friendly and highly academic qualified child from the college on whose close scrutiny all the rehearsals to be performed and be staged as ARUNALU - for the 8th consecutive year, which would, according to the principal's point of view, accomplish two major activities in the curriculum they are none other than development of aesthetic skills and communicative skills and also highly enhance inborn competence of this budding DS sons. To further mould the aesthetic values and to grant more opportunities for the future Arunalu participants, The Principal motivated the parents and the well wishers to contribute to create a modern type of architectural creation as Arunalu building - housing three aesthetic section as music, dancing and fine art, keeping the modern architectural designs for the first time in Sri Lankan school history as an aesthetic building, in the Primary School Premises. This talent search cum talent show comprises the items of

 It is very sentimental to note the presentation of the pupils of Special Education Unit keeps in abreast with the common pupils. We, DS Arunalu Programme, are proud to express that versatile special education child Kosala Uditha Kumara Dullewa performing in "Sunera Foundation" - island wide popular aesthetic forum, is a then member of the Arunalu Special Education troupe. Undoubtedly, these type of extra curricular activities will create future artistes to the nation.

Being the editor of the D.S. web I'm really obsessed with the desperation of missing to enjoy this great musical Extravaganza - ARUNALU a creative sphere, clearly encompassed western, Indian and Sri Lankan folk traditions.

Undoubtedly ARUNALU is an array of inseparably bound budding star studded masterpiece, an initial objective of the founder, Mr.Asoka Senani Hewage, the Principal D.S.Senanayake College, whose perspective and broad vision is to create singing dancing and instrumental icons from this music genre.

He, the principal has unleashed the primary school pupils, staff members and the talented especially in the school body to some times discard the traditional limits and redefined music, blended with numerous dancing sequences for the audience to be aware that this showbiz is synonymous with prestige, glamour and decorum. The most exclusive sentiment is that a child with disabled legs is performing his inborn talent breaking the hearts of the audience. As I mentioned I got this sentimental event to view at the kind request of Mr.R.M.A.Hameed, one of the pioneering members of the D.S.Multimedia Unit - I should mention other Staff members of the Multimedia Unit greatly always volunteer contribution to update the web - whose tears broke up when he showed me the performance of that particular child on the video clip.

So, I take this opportunity acknowledge my sincere gratitude to the diplomacy of Mr.R.M.A.Hameed and also the founder of this great event - Mr.Principal whose supervision always paved the way - even in rehearsals, to achieve excellence. That is secret that this musical brilliance has become a much talked about and sought after event in the school calendar since its inception.

With this great masterpiece, no doubt, DSSC would go to the history the only state school synchronizing academic and aesthetic development of the child, culminating a sensitive personality to the society.

Thank the founder, primary school teachers and the dear sons and other supporters and well wishers for desist in us from this hectic life style to a relaxed soothing wonderland even for sometime.
