"Ran Aswanu Mangallyaya 2- 2009 " conducted by the Sri Lanka Rupavahini Corporation paved the path for D.S. Senanayake College to achieve the third place at the All Island School Garden Competion, proving that city dwellers- rather pupils are capable of handling mammoty just like traditional cultivators - the rural pupils. Ther prime objective of this competition is to create a homly and greenish atmosphere to the school .
