DS takes much pride in organizing Inter-House Sports Meet annually, and this is with no doubt why the Annual Sports Meet plays a big role in the sports loving DS student’s calendar as the school believes that sports can assist boys to develop self-respect and self-discipline. Through their participation, students can develop an appreciation of sport, recreation and exercise as part of a healthy, balanced lifestyle. All students should be given the opportunity to develop and appreciate a sense of sporting conduct and a spirit of fairness, respect, graciousness and generosity towards others. Sport should provide an opportunity of enjoyment, and a feeling of well being and relaxation. All these benefits can be gained whether one wins or loses.

As the first phase of the Annual Inter-House Sports Meet 2009 the General Meetings of all four Houses took place today. At which the office bearers for all four houses Sura, Weera, Shantha and Meththa were appointed at this meeting

All the students now have their fingers crossed as they start to feel the heat of this big event.
