The Computer Society boasts a membership of over 1500 students and is one of the mostly active student bodies of the college. Since it's begininig in 1993 with the opening of the computer laboratory with 20 a workstation network the society has been imparting valuable computing knowledege to the colleges student population tirelessly. The Computer Society organizes All Island Software Competitions, Workshops at the National Level to share the knowledge with other schools in the island. We participate in many inter school competitions Computer society organised an Inter School Soft ware competition in which Royal College won the D.S. Senanayake Challenge Trophy for Soft ware.

Theme of his presentation was the evolution of computers which was very attractive and informative. He received a cash prices as well as a scholarship offered by the IDM Institute

O.B.A Auditorium made the venue for this event on 13th of November .
This was graced by 17 schools in the suburbs . All the participants were greatly enlighted with the "Ninithi Quiz" which paved the way to update their technological knowledge and have an amiable atmosphere moving with the peers. Conducting and the organisation of the whole program under scrutinized supervision of the Teachers In charge were commendable and distinctive.

Fri, 10/23/2009 - 03:15 — content-managerMember of the IT Society and leading IT creative Artist - Kasun Keshawa Ranatunge has symbolised his Alma Mater , claiming for one of the best awards presented by the Chief Guest Hon Minister of Education Mr Susil Premajayantha , at Sri Lanka National Schools Software Championship 2009 held at Nawarangahala on the 22nd of October 2009.
He deserves more achievements in the same field since he is such a competent personality in the school computer society which has represented him for numerous Inter School Competitions. He was awarded the Bronze medal together with an invaluable compliment which would undoubtedly boost his creative works.
